MESSAGE AESI PREDIDENT 2025
“Peace and Beauty. Harmony of Justice” What is the significance of this Seminar today at Palazzo Borromeo at the Embassy of Italy to the Holy See in such a dramatic international context, disrupted not only by conflicts, wars and terrorism, but also by economic struggles and confrontations with financial speculation and claims ?
The beauty of Peace is above everything but it has basic assumptions that we must believe in and work on and promote. The first of all is that ” Peace is the Science and Art of Solidarity Culture.
I believe that peace is possible even today when such ferocious aggression seems to obscure the paths of hope in Europe, even when there no longer seems to be a light that illuminates diplomacy and dialogue! But we must always strive to promote the culture of Solidarity and Peace especially in the new generations!
Yes, peace is always possible if we live it personally and seek and prepare it together with others, before devastating weapons destroy life. Yes, we must urgently prepare the new generations to do a lot to prevent and act for peace, especially now! Arms are silent in Ukraine devastated by the violence of ideology and war without limits because it is time to find peace!
It is no coincidence that the AESI Scientific Committee wanted to give this title to the upcoming 2025 Study Seminars “Peace, Science and Art of Solidarity”
Strong condemnation of the war in Ukraine, but never closing the doors to Diplomacy! Peace in Europe because it is possible for men of good will who do not claim but are open to courageous dialogue without fear of risking their lives! St. Francis taught us the science and art of solidarity with silent diplomacy without clamor (the one sought by political indignation in search of ephemeral successes and solutions to one’s ambitions of power)!
Peace, Science and Art of Solidarity that begins where man and woman live together in a family, in a society and a people, in everyday work and in international dynamics! Where justice is lived not in claiming but in understanding and knowing how to serve others in politics primarily for a common good to be achieved together.
The historical materialistic ideologies that have uprooted man from himself, transforming him into a “nothing” and an object to be used, those other ideologies of hedonistic and pragmatic materialism that see success and money as a sign of luck, must be unmasked by us with the truth about man, for men and women who do not disdain a freer and more democratic society! Building and preventing is what AESI does and promotes among our young university students!”
