Caro Presidente,
anzitutto i miei cordiali saluti a tutti; poi, qualche pensiero in libertà.
Condivido le iniziative da te promosse in questi giorni tanto difficili per il mondo in cui viviamo e della cui globalizzazione abbiamo apprezzato per anni gli aspetti positivi, senza che né le Organizzazioni Internazionali né i singoli Stati si confrontassero con le sue negatività, pur esistenti, destinate a manifestarsi in occasione di conflitti, anche minori, di crisi economiche e di disastri pandemici.
E condivido particolarmente il coinvolgimento, oltre che dei nostri frequentatori, dei tanti altri giovani che apprezzano i programmi di studio dell’ AESI indirizzati al rispetto della persona umana, alla costruzione della pace e ad una concreta solidarietà fra le persone e fra gli Stati.
Perciò , nel mezzo di questa guerra sui generis, alla luce dell’ affievolimento degli egoismi sorti fra Stati, delle nuove iniziative economiche della Commissione Europea e, soprattutto, del bellissimo esempio di solidarietà da parte del piccolo Stato Albanese – forse il primo a comprendere e sostenere che l’ auspicata “vittoria dell’ Italia sarà una vittoria per l’ Europa e per il mondo intero” – sento di poter rassicurare i giovani, anche quelli che avessero perso fiducia particolarmente nell’ Unione Europea ; starà a tutti loro rinverdirla e farla progredire verso gli obiettivi da noi a lungo perseguiti.

Dear President,
first of all my cordial greetings to all; then, some free thoughts.
I share the initiatives promoted by you in these difficult days for the world in which we live and whose globalization we have appreciated for years for the positive aspects, without the fact that neither the International Organizations nor the individual States were confronted with its negativity, albeit existing, intended to occur on the occasion of conflicts, even minor ones, of economic crises and pandemic disasters.
And I particularly share the involvement, as well as of our visitors, of the many other young people who appreciate the AESI study programs aimed at respecting the human person, building peace and a concrete solidarity between people and between States.
Therefore, in the midst of this war sui generis, in the light of the weakening of the selfishness that arose between States, of the new economic initiatives of the European Commission and, above all, of the beautiful example of solidarity by the small Albanian State – perhaps the first to understand and to argue that the hoped for “victory of Italy will be a victory for Europe and for the whole world” – I feel I can reassure young people, even those who have lost confidence particularly in the European Union; it will be up to all of them to revive it and make it progress towards the objectives we have long pursued.
