“Each of us must feel a deep sense of responsibility to contribute to and participate in every possible effort—beginning with prayer, but also through practical actions such as the university cooperation we are engaged in—to bring relief, peace, harmony, and dialogue to places where, at this moment, confrontation, conflict, division, and the tragedy of war prevail. Unfortunately, not everyone is so attentive to these values that form the foundation of human civilization, and for this reason, the younger generations must be helped to have confidence not only in the current international situation but also in their future, through shared efforts in education, formation, solidarity, and the promotion of the common good and a culture of peace. We must not be intimidated, much less discouraged, by those who have the power to destroy the human person. The Lord helps and sustains us in this mission of ours on the international stage, which, however, takes root in families and in the small, everyday places where work, family, and friendship are shared precisely to foster a true diplomacy of peace.”
